Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost Service of Holy Eucharist

Welcome to our Worship Celebration for the Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost, Sunday, October 17th, 2021 (Service of Holy Eucharist)

You are welcome to join us in person on Sunday mornings at 10:30. While reserved seating is not required at this point, all Covid protocols (masks must be worn, use of hand sanitizer, social distancing, contact tracing etc.) still apply.

ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!

THE READINGS: Job 38:1-7, 34-41; Psalm 104:1-9, 24, 35c; Hebrews 5:1-10; Mark 10:35-45

SUMMARY OF THE READINGS: Whereas last week we heard Job’s protest, today we hear the Lord’s response – a reminder of God’s unique creative capacities. So also do we hear God creative work praised Psalm 104. Just as it was with the lot of God’s Servant to suffer, so are Jesus’ disciples promised, in today’s story from Mark, that suffering will be inevitable for them, as it was for the Son of Man. Jesus as a high priest in the tradition of the enigmatic Melchizedek serves as the predominant image in todays passage from the Letter to the Hebrews.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION: What can you do to seek God’s wisdom? How can you be a better servant?

Please feel free to share the link to this worship service with anyone you feel may want to worship with us, or who may be seeking a spiritual home.
