A Destination Parish shining a light in Downtown Sudbury
Local Outreach
The Outreach Team at Epiphany supports the Sudbury Action Centre for Youth (SACY) by collecting and preparing gift bags of personal items for White Gift Sundays (Christmas) and throughout the year. We also collect socks and other clothing that are picked up and distributed to various outreach programs in the city, including SACY, Foyer Notre Dame, Genevra House, Corner Clinic, and Better Beginnings, and collect and distribute knitted goods to the Muskoka Knitters for Global Warmth.
As members of the “Downtown Churches Group” we dialogue with other local churches to explore ways of addressing issues that are unique to the downtown core and how some of the gaps in services might be addressed.
Educational opportunities to parishioners are offered several times per year through the “Lunch & Learn” ministry following Sunday service. A light lunch is provided along with the opportunity for informal questions following a short presentation. Speakers are invited from groups/organizations from within the city (although, on occasion we are fortunate to have a speaker from a national or international project).
