Harvest Thanksgiving ~ Service of Holy Eucharist ~ October 10, 2021

Welcome to our Worship Celebration for the Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost, Harvest Thanksgiving, Sunday, October 10th, 2021 (Service of Holy Eucharist)

You are welcome to join us in person on Sunday mornings at 10:30. While reserved seating is not required at this point, all Covid protocols (masks must be worn, use of hand sanitizer, social distancing, contact tracing etc.) still apply.

ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!

THE READINGS: Job 23:1-9, 16-17; Psalm 90:12-17; Hebrews 4:12-16; Mark 10:17-31

Job has a hard time with feeling thankful. His bitter complaint against an elusive, terrifying God serves as the First Testament reading for today. The remainder of Psalm 90 calls on God to show favour, to be gracious, and to reverse the fate of the worshippers. The epistolary lesson continues with Hebrews, focusing on the penetrating power of the word of God, and of Jesus, the sympathetic high priest. In the Gospel story, Jesus reminds us that all our many blessings come from God and that God blesses our generosity when we give and share with others.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION: How do you talk to God when you feel that God is not listening? How can you be a better disciple, considering the radical words of Jesus in Mark that you must sell all you own, give the money to the poor, and then follow him?

Please feel free to share the link to this worship service with anyone you feel may want to worship with us, or who may be seeking a spiritual home.
