Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost ~ Service of Holy Eucharist

Welcome to our Worship Celebration for the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost, Sunday, September 19th, 2021 (Service of Holy Eucharist)

You are welcome to join us in person on Sunday mornings at 10:30. While reserved seating is not required at this point, all Covid protocols (masks must be worn, use of hand sanitizer, social distancing, contact tracing etc.) still apply.

ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!

THE READINGS: Proverbs 31:10-31; Psalm 1; James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a; Mark 9:30-37

In today’s First Testament passage from Proverbs we hear the well-known passage spoken in praise of the “capable wife.” Similar rectitude toward the law of the Lord is also held out as an ideal in Psalm 1, which serves as an introduction to the entire Psalter. Mark’s gospel story tells of the second passion prediction as it includes Jesus’ teaching about true greatness and as he picks us a child and places her in their midst. The portion of the Letter of James pursues the question of the true identity of those who claim to be wise.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION: Give yourself some moments each day in the coming weeks to sit quietly with your eyes closed. Visualize Jesus kneeling down, opening his arms, and bringing you close to his heart. Let yourself be a little child who is welcomed. What do you notice?

If you wish to follow along with the order of service as you watch, you can do so by going to our website, www.epiphanysudbury.org, and scroll to the bottom of the page under Recent Announcements.

Please feel free to share the link to this worship service with anyone you feel may want to worship with us, or who may be seeking a spiritual home.
