Welcome to Worship for this Ninth Sunday after Pentecost. We are happy you have joined us once again. Our Readings for this week are: Genesis 32:22-32, Psalm 17:1-7, 16, Romans 9:1-5, and Matthew 14:13-21Themes of struggle, conflict and transformation run through the story from the Old Testament, as well as in the Psalm for today. In our first story from Genesis, Jacob struggles all night to realize that he has been wrestling with God, who gives him a new name. Psalm 17 is a complaint, or lament of a righteous individual who is crying to God for help against his adversaries. In Paul’s Letter to the Romans, Paul expresses his anxiety over Israel’s general failure to accept Christ, even as he affirms his solidarity with his Judean ancestral tradition. In our story from Matthew, Jesus feeds the five thousand and thus teaches us of God’s ability and willingness to provide generously for those in need. Our Hymns for today, from Common Praise are:How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place – CP 498Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness – CP 397God the Creator – CP 445The video and an order of service can be found on our website, www.epiphanysudbury.org at the bottom of the homepage under "Recent Announcements" you can watch and follow the order of service all one one screen. As always, please feel free to share the links to this worship service.Be Safe and enjoy this long weekend.
