Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost ~ Holy Eucharist

Welcome to our Worship Celebration for the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost, Sunday, September 26th, 2021 (Service of Holy Eucharist)

You are welcome to join us in person on Sunday mornings at 10:30. While reserved seating is not required at this point, all Covid protocols (masks must be worn, use of hand sanitizer, social distancing, contact tracing etc.) still apply.

ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!

THE READINGS: Esther 7:1-6, 9-10; 9-20-22; Psalm 124; James 5:13-20; Mark 9:38-50

In today’s First Testament passage from Esther, we hear Esther’s request for Haman’s life, his death on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai, and the decree establishing the feast of Purim. In Psalm 124 the Lord is praised for delivering ancient Israel from its enemies. The Gospel story tells of Jesus teaching the disciples not to be exclusive to others, but to attend to weaker members in the community and to be prepared for whatever trials may come. Pastoral and spiritual concerns are prominent in this portion from the Letter of James.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION: How can you see God as an active presence in your life and in the life of others? How can you be grateful and adore God not only in the times when you are the subject of God’s blessing but also in times of trouble and tribulation?

Please feel free to share the link to this worship service with anyone you feel may want to worship with us, or who may be seeking a spiritual home.
