Condolences to the Bolton Family

We regret to announce that the Epiphany has lost a faithful member and good friend today in the passing of Dr. Robin J. Bolton. He died peacefully after several months of deteriorating health with his devoted wife Barbara by his side.

The Boltons have lived in Sudbury since 1967 where he practiced as a Pediatrician and then as Director of the Sudbury Health Unit until his retirement in 2000.

A lifelong Anglican, Robin was an active member of Church of the Epiphany, where he was an integral and valued member of the church choir, a senior church warden and lay delegate to Synod. He was also the founding chair of the Downtown Churches Association. A lover of music, Robin sang with the Bel Canto Chorus and the Sudbury Chamber Singers. Active in the community, Dr. Bolton was a campaign chair and Board Member of the Health Sector of the United Way, a founding member of the AIDS Committee of Sudbury and a member of several committees with the Ontario Medical Association.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Sunday, April 7th from 4-7 pm. Robins funeral will take place on Monday, April 8th at 2 pm.

We extend condolences to his wife Barbara and their children Peter (Beth) of Cambridge, Andrew of Stratford, Tim (Jana) of Sudbury and Beverly of Dorchester, and by his eleven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Epiphany Memorial Fund or Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund.

“May he rest in peace and rise again with Christ”
